The trip to Daman

Our journey in Daman was really memorable. 10 of us from here, went there on 6th September and returned back on 10th September.  It was all Sujith’s idea to go there in Daman. He said he wanted to celebrate his birthday in Daman. None of us wanted to go there during our busy college days. But somehow he succeeded in giving offers that none of us can’t refuse. Though the offer he gave to each one of us was appealing (but it was different for different person), I didn’t like any of his offer. But I still went there because I didin’t want to be left behind and I didn’t want to miss the GPL session. The train journey was of 16 hours. The thing which I liked most is the food Sujith’s parents provided. It was really tasty and it reminded me of my home made food. For the first time in my life, I discovered that the south Indian Food “Idli” is tasty. How foolish  I was to judge food from the dish our hostel mess provides.

While I ate most of the foods at his house, some of my friends enjoyed some particular foods and drinks found at  Dhaba. The first day was spent on a carrom session(tournament) where Vasu and I ultimately became the winner. Both of us got treat from the remaining of us at night. Before I continue, let me tell you who were there with us. The 10 of us are Sujith Sudhakaran, Vasudevan MS, Manu Basil, Jayakrishnan, Pravin, Swathi S Nair, Nepram Surajkumar, Waikhom Ningsuhen and myself. Sunday was the most memorable day for me. We went for Daman Beach right from the morning. We played football, 5 against 5. I think we won, but I am not sure as the game had many many additional rules. After that we played cricket. I scored more that 15 runs for the first time of my life there. But we lost the match. I can’t remember who were there in my team. The coral stone cut my feet and so stopped me from playing further there.

We didn’t returned to Sujith’s house in that night as it was his birthday and he said it would be better if we give him GPL outside his house. Thats what I thought but they seemed to have other plan……….

It was 1 am at night, there was no bus or rickshaw. We returned  to Sujith’s house on foot walking a distance of 5 Km. I hate that part very much.  Pravin was saving lives after lives, Manu was mad with 1/4, and sujith was angry about some inch(all these are coded message and I can neither erase it off nor elaborately explain it).

We had a break journey back to Bhopal. At Badodara, we have to wait for some 3 hours for the next train. Having nothing to do, we went in a cinema hall to watch the hindi movie “Darling”. All patience broke down. I had never seen such a movie. We didn’t need another word; all of us came out during the interval. Times of India gave a rating of 2/5. Had I been the critic, I would have introduced the negative(-) rating.

Monday morning, fortunately was GT and so had a nice sleep back at hostel.
